Why We Should Reform The Calendar - 13 Months Instead of 12
“Humanity is facing the opportunity of transforming all negative past, in a positive present, for a better future. Many negative patterns are programs that we learned from the Gregorian calendar and its individualist "Time is Money" way of living.”
“The 13 Moon Calendar is an opportunity to build communities based in Time is Art, in harmony, to re-construct our way of living in this planet, while we can offer a beautiful life to our next generations. We need to change the habits that don't serve our well-being as humans. ”
“I am in favor of standardized calendar for the whole world... I have been informed of, and I welcome, the international movement for calendar reform. I am always ready to endorse any honest movement that will help unify the peoples of the world. ”
— Mahatma Gandhi
When we talk about calendars, we have not yet reflected on what they are, what we use them for and what effect they produce.
A calendar is an instrument for measuring time, it is a tool for planning and organizing activities, it is used as a template in which we chronologically record our appointments, work and rest days, payments, holy days and holidays, special personal and collective dates, pending issues, objectives, etc.
Ancient cultures developed calendars based on the observation of the movement of the sun, moon and stars and their influence on the planet, in the seasons and in the lunar phases.
Previously, calendars helped define hunting and planting days, among other important activities for survival. It is important that the calendars are synchronized with the natural cycles, to coordinate our activities in harmony, as our ancestors did it.
Calendars affect and define the way we live. "Our belief system is influenced by the calendar we use and our belief system determines our society."
